Frequently Asked Questions

How does this work?

Please refer to the How it Works page for detailed information on how it works.

Is there a fee to use this service?

No. The service is totally free to consumers and businesses.

Why are some categories grayed out in the Request Entry Screen?

In order to enhance the response rate of consumer requests, we are limiting the requests to only categories that have registered businesses. We are in the process of adding new businesses on a regular basis and will open up the categories that correspond to the registered businesses.

Is there a limit to the number of requests that can be submitted?

No, there is no limit to the number of requests that can be submitted. However, there can only be 5 open requested at any given time. If you would like to submit additional requests, please award or close any open requests in order to accomodate new request entries.

Which businesses receive the requests?

The requests entered by a consumer are automatically sent to all businesses that match the following criteria:

  • Category that matches your request
  • Coverage area specified by the requester as well as the business
  • Other criteria include Bonded, Insured, Licensed – as specified by user

How can I register if my business category is not listed?

If none of the categories listed in the Business Registration page match your business, please select “Other” from the Business Category dropdown box. A new box will then appear called “Enter Category Name”. Please enter your new category name and complete the registration process. We will review your submission and notify you.

How can I submit a request if none of the categories match my request?

If none of the categories listed in the Request Entry page match your request, please send us an email using our “Contact Us” form and state your category request. We will review your request and notify you.

Why didn’t I receive my Registration Confirmation e-mail after I registered?

An email is automatically sent to the email address that you used to register. If you do not receive the email within a few minutes, check the following:

  • Did you check the same email address that you used to register on BidoBee?
  • Check your spam/junk folder and add the BidoBee address to your address book to avoid future emails going to your spam folder.
  • If you still did not receive the email, sign-in to BidoBee and a link will be provided to resend the confirmation email.
  • Otherwise, please contact us using the same email address used in the registration and an explanation of the problem.

Can I edit my information after I complete my registration?

Yes. Click on the My Profile tab to change any of your information then click Update

Can I change the e-mail address on my account profile?

No. Since the email address is the primary key that identifies your account, the email address cannot be changed. However, you may delete the account (in the My Profile page) and create a new account using a different email.

What does Request Bid Type mean in the Request Entry Page?

When submitting a request, you can specify how the system would enable the bidding process in the “REquest Bid Type” field. If you pick “Lowest Bid”, the system will automatically force all bidders to bid below the current lowest bid. Otherwise, system will have no restrictions. If you pick “Let Me Decide”, the system will allow the bidders to put in a higher or lower bid.

Do I need to put in a Request Budget?

No, Request Budget is not a required field. You may specify a budget as an indication to the service provider.

Why do you need the cell phone number and the cell provider?

The cell phone number is only in the Business Registration page but it is not a required field. If you wish to receive immediate text message (SMS) notification of new requests, providing a cell phone number and a cell phone provider would enable BidoBee to notify you via text(SMS) messages to your cell phone.

How does the scoring system work?

It’s an internal scoring system for all users and directly dependent on the way the system is used. All registered users begin with a score of 3. The following factors will impact the scoring – positively and negatively:

  • + Completing the request cycle from posting to awarding in the system
  • + Rating businesses after the job is completed.
  • - Request flagged by multiple users.
  • - No awarding businesses when a request cycle is completed with bids
  • - Cancelling Active Request

What is Bidobee’s role after a job has been awarded?

Our role at that point is complete. As soon as the consumer awards the “Request” (Job) to the bidding business, Bidobee will reveal the complete contact information of the business to the consumer. The consumer is responsible for directly contacting the business to set up a time to complete the job as well as payment arrangements thereafter. Once the job is complete, BidoBee provides the user the ability to rate the business.
